Basecamp or Scout? We build your adventure.

Not every build has to start from scratch. Our Basecamp and Scout models give you a proven foundation with room for personalization. These models are available on the Mercedes Sprinter 144 or 170 wheelbase and the Ford Transit 148 or 148 Extended, and we also offer builds on the Transit Mid Roof. (We do not build on low roof vans.)

The two models differ mainly in the location of the galley and seating area, allowing you to choose the flow that best fits your lifestyle. Once you’ve selected your model, the process is simple:

  1. Choose your model — Basecamp or Scout, depending on your preferred galley and seating layout
  2. Choose your trim package — power systems, heating, and interior shower options
  3. Select your standard upgrades — exterior gear like side steps, rear carriers, cargo boxes, suspension upgrades, and more
  4. Go into production — our team gets to work building your van

Smart, Strong, and Adventure-Ready

Both our Basecamp and Scout models feature cabinetry designed with a European-inspired rugged aesthetic that balances durability with clean, modern lines. The cabinet bases are built from lightweight aluminum, paired with eco-friendly bamboo plywood doors and drawers for a natural, sustainable finish that can stand up to years of use.

Overhead storage comes from Van Der Moon Moonboxes, modular upper cabinets that weigh only 11 pounds each, keeping the van light and efficient without sacrificing functionality.

Every detail in these models is carefully considered for weight, quality, and longevity, so your Rover build is ready for every adventure while maintaining the refined feel of a premium camper.

Build with Rover Vans

Smaller Team. Smarter Builds. No Middlemen.

We’re not a factory. We’re not a franchise. We’re real builders who care, and we keep it personal. Other van companies chase volume. Dealerships chase commissions. We chase quality. With Rover, you're working directly with the crew that’s designing, wiring, and building your van, and the results speak for themselves.

Built by Craftsmen, Not an Assembly Line
We build fewer vans per year on purpose — so each one gets full attention from our small, skilled team. You’re not a number in a queue. You're part of the build process from day one.

Direct-to-Consumer: Better Service, Lower Cost
Rover eliminates middlemen, showroom overhead, and bloated admin costs, giving you better communication and more van for your dollar.

More Value Per Dollar
The typical Rover build is $185k-$210k. Dealers and high-volume builders average $240k+. With Rover, you get the same high-end systems but with better craftsmanship and support after delivery.

Designed by People Who Live Vanlife
We don’t design from behind desks. We camp. We road trip. We sleep in our vans. That’s why every layout, bed system, and storage upgrade just works.
